Miss Eleni Genitsaridi
Marie Curie-Sklodowska Fellow
Eleni started her PhD in September 2017 and is funded by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN fellowship (Horizon 2020). Her project is part of the European School for Interdisciplinary Tinnitus Research and focusses on characterising tinnitus subtypes.
Eleni has a medical degree and a masters in Neuroscience, both awarded by the School of Medicine at the University of Crete in Greece. She also has 3 years of clinical experience as an ENT trainee.
For her master's thesis, Eleni applied computational methods to model and investigate the properties of the olfactory bulb. During these studies she broadened her knowledge of the functions and the dynamics of neuronal cells as firing units and familiarised herself with tools used to simulate neurons and neural networks.
During her clinical training, she interacted with patients with hearing problems and gained knowledge and experience for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of ENT conditions.
