Neuroplasticity - take part in a study examining how the brain changes as a result of hearing loss

We are currently recruiting for volunteers aged 20-70, with adult-onset severe to profound hearing loss, to take part in a study looking at how the brain changes (called neuroplasticity) as a result of hearing loss.

We are investigating whether the hearing part of the brain responds to other senses after acquiring deafness, such as vision and touch. To do this, we are recruiting both deaf and hearing participants to provide a clear comparison. The research also forms part of a wider project attempting to compare and validate the use of multiple brain imaging techniques for deaf individuals.
